In just 4 months I have lost 35 lbs. I was amazed that in just the first week I had lost 5, and felt better than I had for years.
Last year I was diagnosed with toxic black mold syndrome, and chronic fatigue syndrome as a secondary diagnosis. Due to these problems I have odd neurological symptoms and moderate anxiety. Drugs don’t help my anxiety. Since I began doing Keto my anxiety has lessened a ton. My general neurological symptoms such as difficult word recall, twitching, and mind racing have almost disappeared.
The Two Week Keto Challenge has helped me with a structured meal plan that includes grocery lists. It is pretty easy, especially because there is so much opportunity for left overs that I can freeze! On top of that I LOVE the food from the Keto Recipe Club, my favorites being the Shrimp Curry, and the “Not Your Caveman’s Chili.” I was impressed that a man made this diet geared for specifically women, as I wouldn’t expect that from a male.
The fact that Keto WORKS, and makes me feel so much better is amazing. I have never been able to manage weight, not be hungry, and feel so great on a diet. Normally “diet” has been such a dreaded term in my vocabulary, it’s also been a constant term. There has never been a point in my life that I wasn’t worried about my weight. I don’t see this as a diet anymore, I see it as a lifestyle that I can continue, and a tool I can use to feel better and stay healthy. What is your favorite recipe from the Keto Recipe Club?
My favorite recipes are the Not Your Caveman’s Chili, and Keto Chicken Pad Thai. I have shared the Cauliflower Curry because it is so good! I like that you have some snack foods available like breadsticks, yum! I also am a fan of the vanilla latte cookies for dessert.
What is your favorite ingredient to use when making ketogenic recipes?
My favorite ingredients to use while making keto friendly recipes are coconut/almond flour and of course stevia and liquid stevia in any sweets. Those ingredients make it easier to not miss non-keto foods.
What is/was your motivation to keep on track?
My motivation to stay on track was/is the fact that I not only feel better but I am consistently erasing the extra weight. Its not fast or easy but it is working. I’ve never really had a diet work for more than a week. This I consider as more of a way of life! I want to continue feeling great!
Did you ever encounter a stall? If so, how did you get over it?
I have encountered a few stalls along my journey thanks to beer, chocolate, and potato chips. I failed and restarted multiple times and as I continued those cravings lessened day by day. I got over it because I have worked so hard and cannot let myself give up! Special thanks to Keto Ultra that helped me get back on track.
How did you hear about keto, and why did you start?
I learned of keto from a friend whom was talking about low carb. She explained what the term meant and I decided to look into it. I read so many success stories that I had to try it myself and I am so glad that I did.
In what aspects have your life changed since going keto?
So many aspects have changed in my life since going keto, from hunger and cravings to anxiety and fatigue. Those aspects have all changed for the better. I don’t get hungry often, and when I do its not for carbs. My anxiety levels have diminished greatly and I am such more energetic. Coworkers have noticed, my boyfriend has noticed, and most importantly I have noticed!
What piece of advice would you offer to people that are just starting out on keto?
My advice to new ketos is to buy Keto Ultra and keto sticks because they make you keep track of ketosis and honest. Also drink lots of water, its filling and makes you feel better. I drank mineral water once a day to replenish my vitamins. I also took a multivitamin to help with headaches etc at the beginning. The first few days are hard but after that, the surge of energy and feelings of well being are worth it!
What did you personally do in your first 2 weeks of keto? (i.e. Drink broth, go for a walk, throw food out, etc.)
In my first few weeks of keto I struggled with cravings, stomach aches, head aches, and grumpiness. I combated this with water, yoga, and cheese. (LOL). It is truly something you just have to get through and once you do you are golden!
